TRADING BY THE MINUTE
It is often said that "the trend is your friend!" As traders, we need all the "friends" we can get. Joe gives you the benefit of his years of chart reading experience so you can recognize these friends as they are approaching instead of as they are leaving. There is a way that you can know when a trend is about to start or is just starting.
Joe Ross has been trading in the markets for over four decades. As he says, "During that time the markets have been good to me. During my trading career, I learned how to listen to the markets when they speak. Markets frequently tip their hand as to what will happen next. I learned to spot a trend long before everyone else knew it was happening. I learned to recognize a trend while it was still in the birth canal." YOU can learn to do the same thing by reading Joe's book, Trading by the Minute.
It is also possible to recognize when a trend is about to end. A major congestion will usually follow. Joe will show you ways to regognize when this is going to happen. Then you can figure it out before everyone else, and position yourself to take advantage of that knowledge.
It's wonderful when you are able to catch a trend early in its life, but it is even more wonderful to know when that trend is ending. As important as it is to know when to enter a market, it is equally or even more important to know when to get out! Trading by the Minute shows you with numerous illustrations exactly how to get the job done.
"When I wrote Trading by the Minute I intensively daytraded everything
from a five-minute chart to a sixty-minute chart. I wanted to be able to show
you exactly how I handled each situation. I captured various intraday charts
from my computer screen and placed them directly into the manual. You can see
these charts evolve literally minute by minute along with my commentary about
exactly what I was seeing, what I was thinking, and how I actually traded. In
fact, I became so excited about what I was doing that I actually overtraded
in some instances.
In Trading by the Minute, Joe reveals his major, intermediate, and minor intraday
trading signals. He shows you exactly what they are and explains why they are
important.
One of Joe's favorite patterns is "Matching Congestions." This entry signal and others provide you with a higher probability for making a successful entry. But entry techniques are not enough. What do you do once you are in the market? How to trade the trade is far more important than mere entry signals. Your trading problems begin after you are in the market, not before.
That is why it is important that you know when a trade should be exited. Trading by the Minute emphasizes the hows, whys, and whens of both stop loss and protective stop placement.
"When I began trading almost four decades ago, I was taught by my great-uncle, who was one of five brothers who had been actively trading in the markets since 1889. My uncle taught me what he called the "True Trend Method" of trading. I traded that way exclusively for the first three years of my career and was able to trade effectively. In Trading by the Minute I present this method for the first time ever. It is a wonderful way to trade, and has been used for over 100 years in spite of market ups and downs."
But that's not all! You will learn about hedging your positions. You will learn how to deal with the floor and your advantages over the traders there. Joe reveals several methods for identifying a trend before anyone else sees that it is happening. You will learn about the "True Correction Method," the "Successive New Extremes Method", and the "Segment Counting Method." You will also learn a method called "Sagging Tops and Rising Bottoms!"
In one chapter, "Strategy and Tactics," Joe shows you how to handle continuation trading, reversal trading, and gaps. In others, you will learn the right mind set for trading, and how to search out the best. You are taken step by step through real trading situations.
You will be looking over Joe's shoulder, watching and benefiting from a depth of experience that goes back over 100 years.
"I have just read your work 'Trading by the Minute.' It is without question the finest book on daytrading I have ever read. Your style is clear and the numerous examples make your techniques understandable to anyone."
Gordon Thomas, Canada
"I just finished reading your book `Trading by the Minute'. I have to tell you that this appears to be the most useful book I have ever read on the subject of commodities. I say "appears to be" because after four years of studying over 30 books and trading various methodologies I've become skeptical of everything I read or otherwise become aware of until I have tested it myself.
"What you have done is give practical information on how to manage a trade after you enter it. Most authors tell you how to enter a trade but not how to manage it. What you have done is give me the proper perspective on managing trades."
Bill Danreta, Rhode Island
"Recently I purchased your excellent book: 'Trading by the Minute.' It is the best work on Day Trading - in the world!"
Alfred Tworkowski, California
"I have had the privilege to read your book 'Trading by the Minute' and I thank you very much for sharing your ideas with me. I have changed my trading style dramatically since I read your book
Hafidi Ellason, Iceland
"As I told you on the phone, I did very much enjoy reading 'Trading by the Minute.' The last month (a bit more self-sufficient in my trading after 'meeting' you) I made some nice trades. Time will tell if it is a coincidence or if my trading has improved from adding some of your experience to my own."
Nils Lindell, Sweden
